Go eat at Foodshop 45

For the most part Vietnam is a very peaceful, safe place to live.

So I was very shocked when I read this.

It concerns the rather wonderful  Foodshop 45.  It had moved from its original location to a new lakeside spot.

And that's when the trouble started.

I've eaten at the old place many times and on many many more occasions I've ordered takeaway.

It's not often somewhere gets it so right.  Ambience, friendliness, great service and awesome food.

So anyway, if you've clicked the link above then you'll already have read about their terrible ordeal.  Under these circumstances I didn't really expect to see Foodshop 45 again.

But incredibly and bravely it's back.  I went with a mate on Saturday night to the beautiful new location at 59 Truc Bach. They've done a great job.

I honestly can't reccommend it highly enough.

Anyway, I am sure that a lot of people, as I did, didn't realise the new place was open.  So, having been there myself I wanted to give it a plug.

It's open and its superb. Oh and seeing as I have never heard a single bad word from anyone about the food, I'm sure other Hanoi bloggers will want to plug it too.

Sitcky Rice, you're up.

Hey yeh, we love FS45 and have mentioned it a couple of times on our blog. You can't ask for more. The food is always sensational (and great value). The family are all so friendly and lovely. And now they have such a beautiful building and view.

I think what made the news so shocking was that you could not ever imagine anyone doing something that horrible to such a gentle and kind family as Hue's (the owner).

AND!! Now they have wireless! So you could go and chill out by the lake in the afternoon with the laptop, and have a few tasty snacks when you get hungry! Sounds pretty good to me.

I agree. They are a lovely family. Always so friendly and seemingly so comfortable working together.

Great to see them up and running again.

Just wanted to mention it because everything in Hanoi works by word of mouth - so anything to help that process.

Must be something in the air. I was there on Sunday for lunch, with camera and notebook. Will be up soon.

Ahhh...you're good people.

Was just concerned that, like I did, people would think that Foodshop 45 was gone for good.

As I mentioned earlier in comments everything in Hanoi relies on word of mouth, all the better if we can give that a helping hand.

Looking forward to reading your post.

Sunday lunch at F45? You traditionalist you. But then again I seem to recall my Hanoi Christmas Dinner of 2004 was a chicken vindaloo.

excellent chicken and spinach kebab, I love it! And very cheap too!
